My Birthday Wishlist: Michael Kors Watch

Sources: One, Two, Three, Four, Five

Seeing as my birthday is approaching (10th September), I have started to put some thought into what will be on my wish list this year. I also thought a good way to document this as I'm hit with inspiration is to post it on my blog too, and see what everyone else thinks. So, currently my biggest want would be a new watch. But not any old watch, a Michael Kors watch

More than often I find myself browsing the web, cooing over these gorgeous, chunky, statement timepieces! But it usually doesn't take too long for me to come flying back down to earth when I realise my bank account just doesn't feel the same way. So I figured, why not just bite the bullet and put it on my birthday list? I think these watches are ideal for occasion gifts and would make any style conscious lady's dreams come true!

As for me,  I just can't make my mind up which style I prefer! I love the rose gold and the large numbers on the Chronograph watch, but then the chunky weight of the Oversized Gold Chronograph absolutely takes my breath anyway! Anything that shiny and bold cannot be missed!! The great thing about the Michael Kors watches is how even though every other blogger has one, they have become absolutely timeless and still is a real statement piece - I don't see them going out of trend any time soon.

So, mum - can I have a Michael Kors' for my birthday? ;)

Monochrome Crush

With my recent obsession with all things reality tv, I have been so, so inspired by so many television stars working the biggest trend for this Spring; Monochrome. Probably my favourite combination of all time, wearing black and white is such a chic and stylish trend that will always be my go to look. Although many look to spring as an opportunity to inject some colour back into their wardrobe after a dreary winter, I for one am eager to start working monochrome to its full advantage!

Damask, aztec, floral, polka pots and stripes are just some of the ways you can work this trend, and so I've picked out some of my favourite high street finds for this spring (I think I'm going to have to buy them all). My favourite of the bunch is definitely the River Island printed trousers! Paired with some Chelsea ankle boots and a peplum top, this would be my ideal office outfit!

What do you think of the monochrome trend? Will you be embracing it this spring?

Primark A/W Collection Wish List

Wow! Omg! Yowzer! Did I ever tell you guys about how much I love Primark? Think it may have come up before... The A/W collection was revealed on Look's website today, and I think a fair few of us have been swooning over it, including me. So, I have attempted to make a wishlist, although, it was bloody hard to narrow it down to a select few items!

001. I have a long black blazer that I brought from Primark over a year ago, a very similar style to this black and white Contrast Blazer, that I absolutely adore, and always turn to! What I love about this blazer is the colour blocking. Instead of just a plain blazer, it makes more of a statement, but not in an 'in your face' manner. Like a lot of the pieces I've picked out, this makes it very workable for wearing to work, which is what I especially like about it. Plus, the price is cracking! £12!!

002. I love this Trimmed Waistcoat for £19, its so sophisticated! I could easily imagine this with a plain white vest, tucked into black skinny jeans or trousers with a statement collar necklace! It would be so chic!

003. I think everyone is loving themselves a bit of ombre lately, and it looks like its surviving the highstreet for another season - hoorarr! This Sleeveless Ombre Print Shirt for £12 is pretty much guaranteed to brighten up any gloomy winter's day, infact, I could do with it right now to brighten up this gloomy British summer's day!!

004. How pleased am I that such a thing as the 'peplum' was invented! What a wonderful invention that goes in at the waist and then out over the mid drift! I adore this pattern, Primark seems to be bringing a lot of these graphic prints into their latest collection. Oh, and for all those arguing Primark is getting more expensive, well hows £8 for ya!

005. I really, really want these black and white printed trousers. I actually love them. They match my bedding as well, which indicates some sort obsession with this sort pattern I think...

006. I also really like these blue, black and white printed trousers. The floral graphic print is so retro, it just screams 60s curtains, and they'd make a statement all by themselves. Once again, ideal work attire, which has got me very excited to compile my autumn/winter work wardrobe! And both of these pairs are £14 each!

007. This necklace is right up my street at the moment. I obsessed with collar necklaces, and this one is just beautiful. I love its futuristic look, and for £8 its definitely a statement worth making. I'd love to pair it with the trimmed waistcoat!

008. Finally, what I was most probably most blown away by out of the new collection, these beautiful Floral Block Heeled boots for £20!! A similar style to the ever popular litas, these looks like a more manageable height for my suffering tootsies! I can't get over how beautiful and bright the print is, they would look so fantastic with a pair of black skinny jeans, or a pair of high denier black tights.

As you may be able to tell, I've basically planned my winter work wardrobe based upon Primark's new line, as I basically love it all. What do you make of the A/W collection? Do you agree with my picks, or is there any others I may have missed?

High End Make Up Wishlist

As my days as a student are now numbered, whilst working tirelessly over my dissertation, I often find myself day dreaming about all the lovely things I'll be able to buy once I get a full time job (well, I suppose IF I get a full time job!)

So often I look on many a blog, where the blogger has indulged themselves with high end brands without batting an eye lid! So, I gave myself an limitless budget, and made a wishlist! (Probably the more sensible option, rather than taking out another student loan to satisfy my jealousy!)

001. When I discovered the Laura Mercier's Secret Finish in Mattifying, I couldn't believe how much this product must have been made for me! It's a liquid gel made to combat oily skin. Instead of working as a primer, which I initially expected this product to be - it's designed to be used for touch ups through out the day, over your make up, working to absorb facial oils and so instantly mattifiying the appearance of your skin on contact. How amazing is that? Instead of adding more make up to your face (which is not great for oily, porous skin) by patting on a pressed powder to your shiny patches, you can just dab on this gel and it soaks up the oil all by itself! Ah, what an  invention! Want, want, want!

002. I'm a real sucker for a coral/pink lip as of recent, it seems to be the only colours I will look at in lipsticks - but I love it. When I discovered this Velvet Matte Lip Stick in La Ravissante by Chanel, I just went 'ohhhh'. I sincearly couldn't imagine a prettier colour, and so appropriate for the Summer months a head of us too! There matte range is available in eight different shades, and are 'enriched with ultra-thin mother-of-pearl particles', so I can
understand why these lipsticks are so pricey! But matte lipsticks are my favourite as I'm not so keen on that sheer, shiny look, plus by it's description this lipstick sounds like it wouldn't dry out but in actual fact moisturise my lips! Gimme, gimme!

003. Estee Lauder have an extensive Double Wear range, but I think what they're known for best in the blogging world is their Double Wear Stay-in Place Foundation. I'm really into my medium to full coverage looks when it comes to applying my base when doing my make up, it's just the look I prefer. And I have found good levels of coverage within drug store foundations I have used, but I've just heard such amazing things about Double Wear, that I can't help but daydream about how flawless my face could look if I used it! The foundation claims up to 15 hours coverage, despite the foundation being such a lightweight formula. It's also a matte foundation, and after trying a few 'illuminating' foundations recently, I'm definitely due something a bit more mattifiying for my oil prone skin.

004. The fact that this Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Bronze is so pretty is enough of a selling point for me. As a major lover of contouring and highlighting, I feel like this bronzer is right up my street. I can imagine it has the capabilities to create a gorgeous summer glow to your cheeks! I love the shimmer in all the shades, and the bronzes just look so deep and luxurious, and I can imagine it working well with a either a baby pink blush, or a deep rouge for a more dramatic, evening look!

005. Finally, this beautiful Bobbi Brown blush in the shade Apricot. I just feel like this shade screams Spring! It's such a warm shade, yet so ditsy colour which I just think is stunning. I have an extensive blush collection, but none in a shade like this! And I can imagine as it's Bobbi Brown, it would be a very pigmented blush. I can really imagine Apricot working well with the Shimmer Brick Bronze, as it will add shimmer to this mattified blusher, and mixed together will create a beautifully defined look when contouring.

So, what do you think of my high end picks? What would you choose if you could afford any pricey product?

Student's Wishlist

Well, for most students, when student loan arrives, the most holiest of days in the student calendar; it's a celebratory event. But my sad reality is that, my loan just covers my rent, and my boyfriend and myself need food to survive, so no blowing the big bucks in Primark for me this term! Hours are short at work, so looks like wish lists are all that's left for me! Don't you worry though, as soon as I scrape the pennies together I'll get spending!

001. HOW CUTE IS THE DRESS! Sob sob sob, I really like this lace number. Ohh, and it has a neck tie as well. It has my name written all over it, and this is definitely at the top of my list at the moment! I was sent a 20% off code from Ark over Christmas, so as soon as my moment of weakness hits I'll be making the most of that!

002. I've got a real thing for faux items lately. My obsession with faux fur is still going strong, and now it's extending onto leather. Alas, these leggings are £40 from River Island. They'd look so nice with a flowy white blouse, nothing beats a bit of monochrome.

003. Romwe is a newish online shop I've discovered, but practically everything on their website is right up my street. Navy is definitely one of my favourite colours to wear, plus I love the white collar popping out. But what I love the most is that it's made out of satin. How nice would they look with the leather leggings on an evening out?

004. I'm a sucker for animal print, I have a major weakness for it. I think it may have something to do with my admiration for the Kardashians. I love these shoe boots, I mean how mega are they? I love wedges too, so much more comfortable.

005&6. I love my rings, especially cute eye catching ones like this little bunny. Plus I always wear gold jewellery, I don't know why but I always seem to avoid silver. Gold and bronze are the one. This marble double cross ring is so so cute. It's so different and I'm really into those double rings at the moment. Unfortunately, I'm under the understanding that £10 is a bit silly for a ring. One daaayyy...

A Poor Girl's Wishlist 15.12.11

Now it's the end of the uni term, and all my Christmas presents have be brought, I'm sad to say, I officially have no pennies. I'm working a few extra shifts at work over the next few days before I go home for the Christmas break to my family's, but I don't think I'll scrape enough together for all these beauts! A girl can dream, can't she...

001. On the Miss Selfridge site it says it's an Aztec print dress, but I definitely get a modern twist on a 60s/70s tie-dye look from this. I think it's amazing, so different and eye catching. I really like the colours used on it, colourful but not too bright, and full of all the major shades of the season.

002. I love this necklace from temporary:secretary, I feel like it's so 1930s inspired and the colours are just adorable. It would brighten any outfit up on these deary winter nights!

003. This dress has to be one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen! I just think it's a real show stopper! I can't think of an occasion I could wear this and get away with it though. But the biggest deterrent is it's price tag; for £160 I think it'll be remaining on my wish list for a very long time yet :(

004. I'm pretty crazy for loafers at the moment, and I love me a bit of suede, so these babies seem to fit the bill quite nicely! I'd also love a pair of the Topshop studded slippers as well, and well the list just goes on, and on, and on, and on...

005. I'm a major sucker for satchels, I just think they're the most practical yet stylish hand bag style there is at the moment, and I'd love this River Island one to add to my collection! The colour is so so yummy, and it just looks expensive with the gold buckles and so on which I adore.

006. Really into headbands at the moment, and as always, loving my animal prints, so don't think I could do better than this Topshop headband! It's a bit of a hit and miss when it comes to me and hats, so headbands are the next best alternative! Plus, I love anything furry, as it's my current obsession. Oh, please please please will someone buy it for me!

Rainy Day Wish List 29.11.11

If you couldn't tell already, it was raining today, a lot. Plus, it's been one of those headache inducing days at uni, so I was feeling inspired to search for the most comforting and cosy clothes that I'm after for this December.

001. This covers two of my most favourite things right now, the colour black and blouses. Okay, maybe black has always been a fond shade of mine, but this blouse is just gorgeous. I love the little stud detailing, giving it a glamorous, rocker look. I'm also a huge fan recently of the whole, buttoning your shirt up to the collar look. Plus, when can you ever go wrong with the slimming power of the colour black?

002. OH MA GEE how cute is this animal hood? I love love my fur this A/W and am always a fan of anything cute and cuddly! I already have an leopard print faux fur trapper hat from H&M with little ears, but then again how can you ever have enough hats with little ears on?

003. Well, this coat has been on my wish list for many months now. I promised myself I'd buy it in September when it first came up on the Miss Selfridge website, but I'm yet to justify spending £80 on a coat when I already have quite a few... I'm a huge fan of b i g hoods, and well this one is pretty damn big. I'm thinking maybe I should just bite the bullet? Wait, I have no money :(

004. Love this tan scarf, it's just so simple and to the point. I've given up on huge knitted scarves for the time being as I always seem to get covered in wool (and eat it by accident too, it doesn't taste good). I feel it has a sophisticated look to it, and could be very versatile depending on what outfit you added it to.

005. Just look at that barbie pink beauty. What more do I really need to say? Spotted this in H&M in Birmingham last week and to be honest I've been thinking about it ever since!! I had to put it on straight away, I just thought it was the most adorably divine thing ever! I just don't know what the hell it would go with!

006. Finally, the pom pom hat. I already have a creamy, floppy kind of one, but I just love the chunky knitted nature of this hat. I can just imagine my head feeling very cosy!
